Before finding the Tea Port I had a friend who was stationed overseas, who had stumbled across a cute little English tea shop (that an English friend had introduced him to). As a gift he had sent me a tiny tin of what they called Bourbon Rooibus. But having it imported from England was insane, let's be honest. So I went out searching for where I could find an alternative source for this rare flavor. Voila, I found the tea port. And when it arrived (I bought 2 lbs of it to share with my roommates and family), it was EXACTLY the same---possibly better because it didn't cost $50 to ship it so I could afford to get 2 lbs of it.
The flavor is amazing. It's naturally sweet and ever so slightly smokey from the bourbon flavor. It's so good that no one I know ever has to add sugar to it. It's sweet enough on its own. Not to mention rooibus is good for digestion and for relaxation. My roommate calls it "cigar tea" because he thinks it smells like sweet, expensive cigars. (I disagree, but it IS absolutely intoxicating.) I highly recommend it to other people who'd like to try!
