A top Darjeeling estate. Tends light liquoring with subtle astringency and classic muscatel character.

I've tried more teas than I can recall and most were unremarkable, bland, or awful. Used to like a first flush darjeeling until the plant burned down and the new management ruined the tea production. Then I tried Castleton Estate second flush and it was wonderful. If you took a sip, a strange thing happed - it was like it had several flavors that would appear one after the other and a final pleasant astringent note. They is the only tea I drink. Same flavor for the past 2 decades.
I once tried a "Caslteton Autumnal flush - dreadful.
Make the tea properly - preheat the tea pot, use the correct amount of tea per cup and steep 3 minutes.
I admit to adding sugar and cream.

After trying all of the Darjeeling producing plantations I selected Castleton as my personal choice - it is truly the Best of the Best! It is a superb black with that excellent muscatel flavor Darjeeling is known for. It brews beautifully in both china, as well as cast iron. Castleton Darjeeling is a particular treat in the morning - it's the perfect way to start your day!

Castleton Darjeelin, comes from a top estate, whose second flush has a great reputation. This is our daily tea, and we buy 5lb at a time....Highly recommend

Been buying from Darlene's for long, and buy pounds at a time because we drink so much tea.
