Made from single buds that are picked only in April and May, Gyokuro is said to be Japan's best green tea. The tea is shaded for weeks before harvesting in order to increase the level of chlorophyll (turning the leaves dark green) and reduce the amount of tannin (lower tannin means a sweeter flavor without bitterness). A "must try" for any tea enthusiast!

I have purchased this product a number of times and found the quality and consistency to be in line with other suppliers who charge more for the product.

You get a sweet floral bouquet in the beginning, a hint of basil and mint with a smooth non-astringent finish.
Darlene never disappoints, she processes my orders quickly and I get them very fast.

I recently got this tea for the first time. It's the best I've ever had. A co-worker advised me not to brew gyokuro with boiling hot water, but to brew it gently. I don't like grassy green teas. Most of the greens I've liked have been quite bland, but this tea has a lot of flavor.

This is a excellent tea. It is worth the extra cost.
